Chapter 2.1 of Oakfield Nights My mother and I pulled up to the parking lot in front of the main office at Oakfield Apartments. She never explained to me as to why we had to leave for New Mexico on such short notice. She had sold most, if not all of our possessions, packed whatever we kept into the back of the car and we just drove of one night. I happened to be worried that we had no furniture, television, food, or money. My mother told me later on that I don’t need to worry about it and that we were not going to end up being poor. Random Part Random ChapterWhy couldn’t I sleep that night? Everyone else was sound asleep, and I myself never had much trouble falling asleep at such a late hour. The sky that night was crystal clear and covered with stars and a fairly good-sized full moon that lit up the calm water down below making it appear as it were on big giant mirror. Like two beautiful skies: the one above us and the one below us. It was nothing more than an illusion, but the thought of being between two skies was enchanting. As I stood there I had the sensation that someone was standing behind me. It was a eerie feeling, since I knew there was indeed someone behind me. ItRandom Part Random Chapter
